Çelik Tekne Shipyard is a subsidiary of "GALATASARAY HOLDİNG" Group, and started life in 1972 in the golden horn area.
After building the first coasters for the Turkish merchant fleet, in 1981, the yard moved to its present location in the Tuzla bay area.

Represents the largest and the most efficient private owned shipyard in Türkiye. The yard is currently involved in various container ships and chemical tankers orders for variety of owners. Three container ships of 1150 and 800 TEUS and one 4200 DWT chemical tanker will be delivered in 1999.
